2021
Another year of COVID-19, but thankfully an on campus 9th edition in September 2021. Last year's edition was all about the banana industry, with themes of irrigation and certification.
A group of students, experts, companies and NGOs worked together to find solutions for these cases about sustainability within the banana industry. It was an intense, but wonderful week for our students and staff with lots of hard work, great teams and a couple bananas.
2020
2020 was a challenging year. So was organising the 8th edition of the International Summer School Sustainable Management.
Due to the COVID pandemic, it was uncertain if the summer school could take place. However, this didn’t stop us from organizing another successful summer school with the coffee industry as the main theme.
The organisation of the ISSSM followed the COVID-19 situation closely. We took serious safety measures, allowing the summer school to take place in September.
2019
The 6th edition of the summer school focussed on the cocoa industry. Together with field experts and business leaders the students worked out sustainable solutions for Godiva, Valentino and Oxfam Fair Trade.
Did you know that we organised an International Summer School Sustainable Management in Ecuador (2019)?
This was another successful edition of the summer school with inspiring company visits and challenging business cases related to sustainable management.
2018
In addition to our Belgian 2018 edition, we organized our first edition in South America. This summer school took place in Bogotá, Colombia in collaboration with Universidad el Bosque.
